The Meeting 2 of the Dialogue Group on Refrigeration systems was held on Tuesday 29 June 2021.
You can find attached to this post the agenda and presentation file of this meeting (and soon the minutes will be published as well).
This meeting presented and discussed the calculation methodology developed by streamSAVE for energy savings from centralized commercial and industrial refrigeration units. Key points highlighted in the discussions:
– The scope of the methodology: focus on new installations or the replacement of air-chilled or water-chilled central compression refrigeration units, and high temperature process chillers.
– The importance of the ecodesign regulation for air heating and cooling products (EU) 2016/2281, which makes that the calculation methodology previously using ESEER (European Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) as efficiency parameter should be updated to use the new efficiency parameters set in the current regulation: SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) or SEPR (Seasonal Energy Performance Ratio) (according to the type of equipment)
– The standard EN14825:2018 may include complementary indicative values that could be relevant for the streamSAVE methodology.
